Drawing on my background in chemical engineering, I actively sought to recruit investment banks specializing in the energy and industrials sector. Career Design Lab played a crucial role in advancing my networking skills as I embarked on a journey of professional development. Several months ahead of the official recruiting kickoff, I initiated coffee chats and calls with bankers, dedicating time to networking. As the recruiting season officially commenced and with a network of quality connections established, I received the first-round invitation from the firm. The entire interview process spanned approximately a month.

In my role as a summer analyst in investment banking, I played a key role in supporting the firm’s investment banking and financial advisory activities, collaborating closely with senior bankers throughout the deal lifecycle—from origination and execution to distribution and closure. Daily tasks encompassed various activities, including conducting diligence on sell-side asset M&A models, engaging in investor outreach, and contributing to research initiatives aimed at facilitating deal origination.
