Society of Knowledge Management

SPS Engage Organizations (internal use only)Student Organizations

Originally founded on September 16, 2021 by 4 students from the Information and Knowledge Strategy (IKNS) program, the Club is being re-registered by 4 new students from the IKNS program. The Society is a community of knowledge management student-practitioners who seek to develop, connect, and contribute their knowledge learning, experience, and know-how with each other and the rest of the Columbia community in order to prepare and create better leaders across all sectors in today’s knowledge economy.

What is information? What is knowledge? Our Society’s mission is to increase individual and collective fluency in the subject of knowledge. As knowledge scientists we will leverage our understanding of knowledge concepts to create a unified center of networks focused on creating a shared space for knowledge dissipation, leveraging each other to learn from individual and shared experiences through shared social experimentation and conversation. Through creating a space for dialogue, true knowledge-sharing persists, allowing individuals to optimize their experiences and leverage their respective professions to make knowledge and know-how more accessible within Columbia and at large.
