The primary purpose of Columbia SPS Black Student Guild is to enhance the student life experience of all students who identify as black in the School of Professional Studies by providing programming that:
1. Creates an atmosphere of safety and mutual respect;
2. Encourages relationship building amongst students, faculty, administrators and the broader Columbia community;
3. Provides a safe space for respectful dialogue and discussion on relevant topics based on the experiences of black students within the School of Professional Studies
4. Embraces and promotes black cultures and identities;
5. Assists in the integration of black students into the larger School of Professional Studies and Columbia University communities.
