Explore a typical day in the life of a Corporate Finance Analyst
Welcome to our programme! We are so excited to have you here.
Firstly, who is Goodbody and what does the company do? As Ireland’s largest independent corporate finance advisory firm, Goodbody works with business owners, management teams and investors to access capital and execute strategic transactions on their behalf. This can be done in many ways, but typically it involves preparing a business for exit, raising capital through various channels, growing through acquisition or seeking strategic advice.
The aim of this programme is to develop an understanding of the financial world and in particular, demystify your potential future role as a Corporate Finance (CF) Analyst.
The typical day in the life of a CF Analyst can be incredibly varied depending on what deal you are working on, what stage that deal is at, size and complexity, buy side / sell side, etc. In simple terms, CF Analysts help firms optimise resources through many channels, including funding and funding sources, capital structure (the balance between debt and equity), investment decisions and much more.
Throughout this wider programme, we will learn about capital structure, sources of funding, valuation methods, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals, IPOs and ultimately what you can expect if you were to become part of the team at Goodbody.
We hope this programme provides a great resource for you to upskill and strengthen your CV as you explore career options and a potential career at Goodbody!
