CCSI is seeking two highly motivated, detail-oriented graduate students to support the Center’s research and work on a large-scale market assessment of innovative clean energy technologies for critical minerals in developing countries. The internship will involve working closely with researchers and other interns at CCSI as well as Columbia Engineering on research, analysis, partner liaison, drafting, and finalizing reports. The project aims to map out the landscape of technological innovations and innovators in clean energy technologies relevant to critical minerals throughout the value chain, and assess the current and potential market demand for these technologies. Preference will be given to candidates with strong research and writing skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Knowledge or experience in issues relating to mining legal frameworks, international mining standards, mining innovation technologies, and critical minerals for the energy transition is desirable. French, Portuguese, and Spanish skills are a plus. Ideal candidates will be available to start part-time for the remainder of the Spring semester, transition to full-time over the summer, and continue part-time through the Fall semester. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through April 29.
To apply, please send a cover letter, CV, and writing sample, (all together in a single file, in that order), to CCSI’s Executive Coordinator, Nancy Siporin (nancy.siporin@columbia.edu). Please indicate if you are work-study eligible (preferred but not required).
