Five Tips For Women Launching Blockchain Careers

Technology—blockchain in particular—remains a male-dominated industry, and gender-based stereotypes persist.

We are beginning to narrow the gender gap, but progress is slow and circuitous. In large global technology firms, the percentage of women employees is predicted to reach nearly 33% by 2022, an increase of around 2% since 2019. The proportion of women in technical roles is expected to rise to 25%, from 22.4% in 2019.

In fintech and blockchain, the disparity is even more pronounced. Women make up only 7% of the global fintech founder community, and just over 1% of the $40 billion raised in 2019 went to women-founded startups. In 2021, less than 5% of cryptocurrency company founders were women.
