Racism toward people of Asian heritage in the United States manifests itself in a wide range of words, actions, and tropes. The COVID-19 crisis and associated rhetoric have fueled a surge of discrimination and hate targeting Asian Americans, but attitudes of Asian Americans as threatening are not new. Racism is not unique to the U.S. or Asian Americans, but it is a real problem affecting the entire country that everyone can help change.
