My team is responsible for building and maintaining Zoom’s Security Standards and utilizing these requirements to improve Zoom’s security program from a product and corporate standpoint. Additionally, we work to attain Security Certifications, which is done by partnering with different areas of the business to showcase Zoom’s Security Program to customers and different security certification bodies. This allows Zoom to build trust with different governments, industries, and customers so we can continue to further connect the world.

I was laid off in April 2020, from a Cybersecurity Consulting job, due to the Covid pandemic. During this time I switched from a part-time student to a full-time student to finish my degree quicker than initially anticipated. While in school, I applied to many jobs but as the pandemic got worse, the harder it became. I reluctantly ended up taking a job with a consulting firm that would begin after the summer semester. I was not happy with this job but alas, I needed one. I kept applying throughout the summer with the hopes that an opportunity would present itself and at the last second, I received an offer from Zoom to join their Security Organization. I was already in week 1 of my new consulting job but I could not deny myself the opportunity at Zoom. To me, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity considering what Zoom was during the pandemic and what Zoom could be post-pandemic. So I took a leap of faith, quit my newly accepted job after only four days, and joined Zoom the following week. I have not once regretted my decision. Zoom has allowed me to grow as a security professional and a people manager and I could not be more excited for this next chapter.
