Dorlene Curwen was appointed in June  2022 as an Assistant Director of the Career Design Lab for the School of Professional Studies at Columbia University. Her arrival shows the institute’s continued commitment to investing in Professionals to assist in the successful transition of their students into the workforce. Dorlene holds an MS in Career Development from the College of New Rochelle and a BS in Business Management, with a Minor in Marketing, from St. John’s University’s Tobin School of Business. Born in Harlem and raised in the Bronx, Dorlene is proud of her West Indian heritage and enjoys traveling. Dorlene has left her mark at Educational Institutions such as the College of New Rochelle, Mercy College, and Fordham University. She is passionate about helping students carve out successful career blueprints, leading to significant returns on their educational investment.

Dorlene is skillful in presenting strategies for resume writing, job interviews, and connecting the right jobs with the right people. Her much-talked-about workshops and one-and-one mentoring sessions have served to arm her students with the necessary tools to make sound and effective career decisions. Many of her students have credited her with their immediate and successful transitions into the job market. It is clear that Career Design is a much-needed investment within our Educational Institutions.
