The SVP Product for Commerce Cloud must have outstanding communication skills to partner closely with executives across our customer base, lead internal executive discussions, and participate in the Salesforce Trailblazing events (Dreamforce, Connections and more). Given the rapid innovation in the Commerce market, the ideal candidate will have previous experience leading products for Commerce platforms.
The right candidate will be a proven leader who is well regarded by her/his team for being a thoughtful people manager, with experience leading large teams and other senior leaders, as well as being a thought leader for her/his product area. Product Vision & Strategy: Build the product vision and strategy to delight customers and meet business goals and revenue targets, while aligning on objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, and risks .
Leadership: Be the expert on the domain, market, and trends to drive innovation and new ways of thinking. Make and own critical decisions and be proactive in foreseeing and resolving issues.
Team & Resources: Build and develop a strong product management team that can deliver the next phase of customer experiences and innovation. Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusiveness, and excellence, with a constant focus on doing what is right for our customers and the business. Ensure teams are empowered to deliver with clear priorities and accountability, and the right resources and tools. Ability to lead the team through change effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate across product and business teams to drive the entire product lifecycle, define appropriate partnership strategies, and build easy-to-adopt models for our customers. Partner with go-to-market, product marketing, and field teams to drive awareness and thought leadership in the market. Be the champion and voice of customers to drive their success.
Operations & Scale Drive operational rigor, flexible processes, and best practices that can scale with rapid growth, especially as it relates to the product roadmap.
15+ years of product management experience, with 10+ years in a leadership or management position. Previous experience leading manager of a manager is a must. Passionate about developing and growing people within the organization.
Deep understanding of the Commerce market, trends, and technology, and ability to translate this expertise into a long-range plan with yearly execution. Previous experience leading a Commerce platform product preferred.
Technically strong. Ability to partner closely with engineering to make architectural trade-off decisions and balance short and long-term product bets to ensure ongoing innovation to our customers.
Proven ability to inspire, empower, and lead cross-functional teams. Low ego, with a leadership emphasis on the success of the team, the business, and customers.
Data-driven and results-oriented leader with a growth and scale mindset. Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills, and ability to quickly learn and drive to market leadership in new product categories.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), i ncluding experience in high-level business discussions and deep technical discussions. Ability to build compelling presentations and narratives to drive influence and awareness. Experience with executive leadership a must.
