The OneVoice Movement seeks a Program and Communications Intern to provide support for the New York office’s Core program and Communications team. This will include helping with program development and presentation, tracking metrics, writing content for social media and mailing lists, and website management. The assigned tasks will be split 50/50 between program and communications. This internship offers opportunities to gain experience in grassroots work and program development within a professional non-profit environment, while increasing one’s knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Applicants should possess excellent verbal communication skills, be organized and detailed-oriented, flexible, a team player, and one who takes initiative and pride in their work. Applicants should be interested in communications and in helping to develop programming with different target audiences, nationwide. Although the OneVoice Movement boasts a fast-paced work environment, it also values personal development and enthusiasm for learning. This internship will begin in September 2021 and will run until December 2021, with optional renewal for the spring semester. The ideal candidate will be able to commit at least 40 hours per week, although part-time 20 hours per week candidates will also be considered. The internship will take place remotely.
Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, and in coordination with the US Outreach Director, assist the development and implementation of programming nationally;
Assist in event implementation, including scheduling, set-up, promotion, mapping and presentation support, as well as monitoring and evaluation, and reporting;
Work closely with other OneVoice team members to assist in daily needs and duties, as assigned by the Deputy Director.
Work with the Communications Manager to brainstorm and prepare external communications;
Update and maintain the OneVoice website;
Write and proofread/edit copy for social media, emails, and external reports;
Create and manage email databases via MailChimp;
Other duties as assigned by the Communications Manager.
Bachelor’s degree or highly qualified undergraduate working toward their B.A.;
Exceptional communication skills, including writing and research;
Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and meet deadlines;
Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, reliability, and flexibility;
Experience in writing social media and email content;
Proficiency with databases and tools like Google docs, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suit, and Mailchimp are a major plus;
Interest and knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and regional political discourse;
A great sense of humor and enthusiasm for learning.
