OBJECTIVES:
The Manager, Operations | Procurement is responsible for overseeing the procurement processes within the organization, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee procurement operations and manage the procurement team, ensuring efficient workflow, successful outcomes, and timely implementation of tasks
2. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization’s objectives
3. Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations
4. Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement
5. Manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contracts and resolve any issues
6. Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and maintain a database of approved vendors
7. Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and agreements
8. Oversee the procurement process from the initiation of a purchase request to the final receipt and approval of goods
9. Coordinate with internal departments to forecast needs and specifications
10. Manage the procurement budget and prepare cost analyses and reports
11. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry market trends and developments

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business logistics, supply chain management, or related field, preferred
- Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with progressive responsibility
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and management skills
- Proven experience in managing others, office management, administrative support, or a similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in a non-profit environment is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team and adapt to dynamic environments.
