LaSalle Network is looking for a recent graduate with excellent analytics and Excel skills looking to get their foot in the door within the merchandising and logistics industry! Our client, a retail and merchandising client in the north suburbs, is looking for an analytical and savvy candidate to join their Vendor Management team as a Vendor Management Associate. In this role, you will work directly under the Director of Strategic Sourcing and will partner closely with supplier contacts and internal stakeholders to optimize the supplier validation processes, as well as optimizing use of vendor management tools and building vendor relations.
This role serves as a critical function in ensuring our client utilizes vendors that can deliver an optimal balance of reliability along with high-quality and creative products and solutions. In this role, you will work in a challenging environment where your efforts drive meaningful results for our client’s vendors, co-workers and the company as a whole, while providing you an exceptional learning experience and ample room for growth. This is a full-time onsite position and is temp to perm!
Vendor Management Associate Responsibilities:
- Managing the supplier validation process of collecting, reviewing and processing legal and financial documents
- Maintaining the vendor database across multiple systems and tools
- Reviewing vendors’ gaps in validation requirements, determining viable options, creating and sharing recommendations and documenting all findings in Excel and other tools
- Collaborating with internal teams to identify and present process improvement opportunities and implement process improvements throughout multiple departments
- Thoroughly and accurately documenting and sharing key takeaways from interdepartmental meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Vendor Management Associate Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience and/or knowledge of Business, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain or Accounting
- Excellent organization, methodical problem solving and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to understand a process, breakdown and document the process, offer recommendations for improvement and implement those improvements across the organization with support from management
- Solution-oriented approach to solve problems/address questions on the fly, while maintaining process/timeline requirements
- Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and willingness to learn new software as needed
- An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required
