~ Develop strategy and implement HMA corporate social responsibility initiatives with the aim to increase Hyundai & Genesis brand awareness, consideration and market share by executing relevant programs and initiatives to advance our business objectives at the local-, state- and national-level. This includes promoting Hyundai and Genesis leadership in technology democratization, eco-friendly mobility solutions and customer-centric experiences. Role will proactively identify, promote, advocate and execute opportunities aligned with Hyundai’s corporate culture, character and mission.
~ Develop a comprehensive CSR and coordinated strategy for Hyundai and Genesis to meet HMNA’s strategic direction for Hyundai and Genesis
~ Plan and manage the CSR budget to achieve the KPIs for both Hyundai and Genesis
~ Identify and work with external stakeholders (dealers, NGOs, governments, charities, companies) to pursue and promote CSR’’s key objectives:
~ Recognized as innovation/technology thought leader
~ Promote eco-friendly mobility solutions and partnerships
~ Improve the lives of our customers and neighbors (democratization of tech, STEM, food scarcity/community outreach)
~ Primary spokesperson responsibilities for CSR initiatives and efforts to internal and external audiences with PR
~ Work closely with HMC, HAC, HMM, HMMA to ensure regional and global alignment of CSR efforts to achieve maximum impact
~ Reinforce HMA’s social responsibility policies through external and internal communications and branding.
~ Coordinate with PR to maximize visibility and amplification of CSR initiatives.
~ Manage HMA corporate giving budgets, by ensuring all investments are aligned to core business values of the company and incorporating clear and transparent policies and procedures for CSR support criteria.
~ Coordinate as appropriate with HMA’s signature non-profit program, Hope on Wheels, and align and support per non-profit guidelines.
~ Create an enterprise-wide sustainability report, which can be used internally and externally to promote HMA commitment to the environment.
~ Support retention and reinforce HMA initiatives to current employees for the purpose of increasing philanthropic giving, community outreach and volunteerism.
~ Ensure processes and procedures for allocation of CSR and nonprofit funding is defined, transparent and repeateable
~ Review processes and procedures regularly (at least once per year at a minimum)
~ Work with cross-functional internal teams (e.g. HR, Legal, PR) of risk and compliance managers to ensure policies and best practices are in place to minimize risk to the public.
~ Work to boost Hyundai’s public image by teaming with marketing and communications managers to proactively market the brand and increase ethical pride.
~ Show the public that the company takes its commitment to social responsibility seriously, by including Hyundai Executives (Directors and above) in events and board membership.
~ Establish partnership with other Hyundai companies in the US to align outreach efforts and maximize program spending.
~ Provide on-going reports and business results to HMC headquarters, as required.
~ Produce an CSR annual report and make available on our public website-Ensure CSR activities are conducted on a national level and are represented appropriately across all regions.
~ Ensure a validated process is in place for regions/markets to submit CSR support requests. This process must provide a transparent and repeatable method for CSR allocation to the regions.
~ Assist in achievement of HMA business plan goals and other duties as assigned.
~ Responsible for management of CSR staff
~ Responsible for CR/PR/expense reports/travel requests per company policy.
~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus
~ Fifteen plus years of experience of which at least eight years of directly related experience in sales, public relations or marketing preferred.
~ Understanding of issues in the automotive industry and an understanding of the industry, social and political ramifications issues.
~ Knowledgeable about the function and overall engineering of automotive vehicles and can knowledgeably discuss same.
~ Capable and experienced in providing communications counsel to senior management.
~ Knowledge of and experience in working with consumer and automotive media both in the Midwest and nationwide.
~ Experience in the working with print, broadcast and digital media reporters and editors and has proven track record of placing stories with same.
~ Familiar with competitors’ products.
~ Proven experience in the planning and implementation of press events including product introductions.
~ Three to five years of supervisory experience desired.
~ Budgetary management
~ Ability to develop and present Executive level presentations; superior written and public speaking skills; solid analytical reasoning and project management; supervisory skills.
~ Highly motivated to succeed in challenging and high stress environment.
