Position: Logistics Specialist (11am – 8pm, with rotating on-call weekends)
Division: GMLx, Tier 1, Joint Replacement

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Hourly Pay: $19.53 (base rate + consideration for related & verified experience)

Position Summary: This role will report directly to the Assistant Operations Manager and will have no direct reports. The Logistic Specialist is responsible for shipping, receiving, storage, distribution, inventory and cycle counting of medical devices in a warehouse environment. This position requires a general availability between 11am – 8pm. During the training process, the work shift may start as early as 8am or 9am. However, once training is completed, the standard permanent shift will be Monday – Friday, 11am – 8pm. This is a great opportunity for entry-level candidates or recent graduates in any Operations / Supply Chain / Logistics program.
Scope of Role Responsibilities:
- The essential functions include but are not limited to supporting all partners / customers in supply chain activities (warehousing, distribution, inventory, quality standards, shipping & receiving).
- Inspect products or materials for damage, defects, or shortages.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Prepare product for scheduled surgeries.
- Maintain warehouse organization to avoid product errors.
- Processing incoming orders for materials, merchandise, or services.
- Check inventory records to determine availability of requested products.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Responsible for KIT inspections.
- Implement and support Quality initiatives.
- Maintain account records, signing, reporting, and filing/scanning documents.
- Confer with distribution, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace deliveries.
- Work with internal resources for alternative product obtainment (e.g. loaner bank, other warehouses, consignments).
- Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment, inventory for expiration dates, etc.
- Review overdue shipment returns and partner with dispatcher to schedule the return.
- Informing customers of receipt, shipping, and delays.
- Use computers to maintain accurate account records and shipment of inventory.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities, evenings and weekends, if applicable.
- Cross-train in other areas of the business.
- Work with FedEx for shipping and receiving.
- Meet established metrics for operations (i.e. service levels).
- Perform or assist with other duties and projects as needed & as assigned.
Critical Experience & Skills:
- Distribution, Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehouse previous experience is a plus.
- Undergraduate Degree or related experience in supply chain/logistics is a plus.
- Customer focused/must work well with customers of all levels/backgrounds.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Valid Driver’s license with good driving record
- Must have the ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work varying hours/shifts as necessary, to include rotating weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced rapidly growing environment in which collaboration in all directions is necessary.
- Basic computer knowledge, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
