What You’ll Do:
As an Intern working with our facilities group, you will reinforce your education through a practical, hands-on, paid work experience. Your work will be realistic and rewarding, while allowing you to be in a position of responsibility. You will contribute ideas and develop knowledge and communication skills while interacting with top professionals in your field. Your internship is more than a job; it is a learning experience that allows you to explore career options. You can even learn more about yourself, your skills, and help set your career goals. Best of all, you will be given meaningful assignments that will give you a sense of accomplishment. You will be part of a dynamic, growing, and energized team – and your role is key to the success of ECS. While your job duties may fluctuate day to day, here are some areas we expect to see you grow in:
Conducting field observations associated with existing facilities
Performing facilities related services including roofing and waterproofing, fireproofing and firestopping, exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), anchor testing, coring, scanning, material sampling, leak investigations, and forensic investigations
Interacting and communicating effectively with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers
What We’re Looking For:
Actively pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related degree
Interest in building forensics, mechanical systems, and structures
- Some serious GRIT and have no problem carrying 40 – 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
- Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites – mileage will be reimbursed
