Innovation is a core “Must Do” at Diageo and we are looking for an Associate Innovation Manager that is ready to step up and deliver innovation programs at pace and scale that are critical to the business strategy and generate steady growth for the company. They will be responsible for the development and successful commercialization of key innovation projects from concept through to launch. They will be instrumental in driving margin enhancement and brand growth while also redefining Diageo’s role in the categories in which we participate.
Purpose of Role:
Seeking highly-motivated, action-oriented, creative and entrepreneurially-driven candidate to work on the dynamic and fast-paced NA Innovation team. This individual will collaborate with Innovation Demand Leads across major spirits categories to bring to life an array of exciting opportunities with a focus on core spirit brand product extensions.
The type of person we are looking for must have a real balance of urgency, entrepreneurial drive and commercial acumen. The ideal candidate has a curiosity about consumers and the competitive landscape and an interest in creative and design. They must be able to work across the organization and have the ability to get great results quickly from a cross-functional team made up of Supply, Technical Innovation, Finance, CPR, Brand, Global Teams and Sales functional experts. A key part of this role is to ensure that disciplined project leadership, commercial acumen and business management are balanced in delivering sustainable growth through new brand offerings.
The role is responsible for all aspects of supporting their Innovation Demand Leads on key innovation projects: budget management, performance reporting, brief development, concept creation, launch plan development, commercialization, Measurement & Evaluation and final go-to-market launches. This includes:
Leadership of cross-functional project teams to ensure engagement leading to timely and successful delivery of projects.
Collaboration within the broader innovation team to support ad hoc workstreams as needed
Ongoing pipeline management support and team budget support and tracking
Qualifications and Experience Required:
4+ years of innovation or marketing experience preferably within a CPG environment
Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritize and drive to action
Ability to demonstrate consumer insight, creativity and flair
Skilled relationship builder and influencer
