Full job description
The Senior Project Manager provides project management for large size projects, sometimes concurrently. These projects are of high visibility and importance as they align with the company’s Key Plan items. This position models integrity and project management best practices to non-senior team members and has a hand in growing and mentoring these individuals. This position aids in the definition, planning and delivery of complex projects while maintaining constraints of scope, quality, schedule and budget.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage scope, schedule and resources for large projects (60%)
- Understanding the project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate activities
- Project Planning, Scheduling, assist in Cost Control by creating estimates and baselines
- Identify project risks and opportunities
- Managing deliverables and team member expectations
- Identifying and escalating issues in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain project budget
- Developing and presenting recommendations to project Sponsors
- Communicating project status to the PMO, Sr. Management and other Stakeholders
- Preparing project documentation files
Expand and Maintain PMO’s Capabilities and Service Offerings (25%)
- Explore and study new tools and practices for Project Management Methodology
- Create new approaches (framework) for Project Management as situations demand
- Inspire project teams to deliver best-in-class solutions and challenge the status quo
- Evaluate the readiness of project teams and then recommend related training in order to ensure the team’s success.
- Create and Conduct trainings if necessary
Mentor and/coach Project Managers (15%)
- Mentor and provide guidance to other project management team members
- May supervise activities of Project Managers within PMO (performance evaluation/management)
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required
- Provide leadership for other PMO team members
- 8 – 10 years related work experience
