The VP Global Security Operations is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and management of GM Financial’s corporate security vision, strategy, programs and operations to effectively address enterprise security and safety risk. The VP is responsible for helping ensure a safe, secure work environment for all employees and the physical security and protection of all company facilities, premises and assets globally. Addressing enterprise security and safety risk includes effective use of a wide range of technologies and assisting in the development of policies, procedures and best practices to manage various potential risks and threats. This is accomplished through the VP’s effective leadership of several organizational functions within Global Security: Personnel Security; Physical Security; Security Investigations; Global Security Operations Center and the Global Security Intelligence Center. As a member of the Global Security Leadership team, The VP Global Security Operations also provides support and perspectives into broader global security organizational functions including Travel Security, Physical Security Systems/Technology, Emergency Management, and other organizational functions as needed.
Responsibilities:
About the role:
- Assist in the development of and operationally execute the corporate strategic plan that identifies security and safety, goals, objectives, and metrics.
- Oversee and execute the planning, implementing and maintaining of systems, processes, policies and procedures sufficient to administer the security needs of the Company
- Oversee the annual Physical Security Risk and Hazard Assessment and the assignment of resources to mitigate risk
- Assist in the development of the corporate Emergency Preparedness Plan to protect team members during emergency situations and oversee the execution of all operational aspects in the event of an emergency
- Represent Global Security at meetings to discuss issues as needed and provide timely resolution to security issues with the widest latitude for judgment
- Ensure operational coverage of projects/events and company-wide initiatives; this entails communication of related information to the EVP Chief Information Security Officer, and delegation of representation to senior members based upon areas of expertise
- Assist the EVP Chief Information Security Officer with the annual financial budget preparation and perform annual performance managaement process including salary evaluations
- Build effective working relationships with Legal, Human Resources, Internal Audit and other departments in order to accomplish departmental and corporate objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned and conform with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications:

- In-depth knowledge of contemporary security processes, principles, best practices in emergency preparedness, personnel security, physical security, executive protection, technical security systems, intelligence assessment and investigations
- Extensive knowledge of best practices for corporate security and safety, such as risk and hazard assessment; strategic and tactical investment of resources to address evolving risks; employee engagement to maintain trust and provide a reassuring presence of security personnel and assets, and collaborative problem solving
- Professional board certification in a relevant security discipline
- Strong executive leadership, management and administrative skills that produce effective operations and an engaging workplace culture
- Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues
- Reputation and track record for inspiring and managing a diverse professional staff in a multi-functional unit with a strong commitment to customer service
- Experience planning and implementing change programs and service delivery models, with an appreciation for balancing approaches and initiatives that meet short-term and long-term needs
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Security Administration or related discipline required
- Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Security Administration or related discipline preferred
Experience
- Greater than 10 years increasingly responsible experience in the field of Corporate Security, Physical Security or other controls-related field required
- 7-10 years Management experience required
- Experience in a finance/lending related industry or government (state, federal, military) preferred

Compensation: Competitive salary and bonus eligibility; this role is eligible for company vehicle program

Travel: Frequent travel to all DFW locations; travel to other sites including global locations based on business needs
