Full job description
Provide strategic financial leadership and critical business analysis to successfully establish, analyze, and achieve short- and long-term business goals. Directly supports the CCI CFO, CTO and the Senior Leadership Team by providing pro-active, high quality financial information, analysis, and guidance that produce valuable business and industry insights and facilitate decision making.
The level of exposure for this role is at the highest level of the organization, as it regularly and directly leads and facilitates SLT reviews, discussions, and decisions. The role frequently presents financial and operational analysis and insights to the CEO/President and ELT directly. Trust and credibility level with the SLT must be incredibly high to be effective.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Supports, communication, consolidation, and presentation for the long-range planning, annual budgeting, and forecasting processes for a $13 Billion company.
- Influences and shapes strategic decisions by generating future-focused business and industry insights and critical analyses.
- Creates comprehensive and dynamic financial models for scenario planning and future business planning.
- Coordinates with business partners to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding Company strategy, financial plans, new business initiatives and operating forecasts.
- Develops, models, and analyzes metrics and trends for business opportunities and risks, and provides key findings and recommendations to improve short- and long-term operating performance; leads and provides direction to the team in this area.
- Leads and facilitates the capital investment reporting, management, and portfolio allocation process to appropriately balance strategic, growth, and maintenance investment and returns.
- Performs Working Capital analysis, forecasting, and planning to create insights, projections, and actions that improve free cash flow.
- Story-telling capability must be at the highest level. Critical and frequent role in executive level presentations and insights for Cox Communications, Cox Enterprises, and external investor audiences (i.e., LRP/Strategy Reviews, Board of Directors, Ratings Agencies, Bond Investors, etc.).
- Build and maintain trust, business partnerships and relationships with VP-level and above peers and stakeholders across Cox Communications, Cox Automotive, and Cox Enterprises finance organizations.
- Participates in/facilitates several company governance meetings, including Capital Committee, ITRM Council, FCRB Exception Committee, NewCo, Network Enablement, Network Reliability, etc.
- Reviews/approves all new ITRM contract requests/major renewals.
- Reviews/approves all CTO 3PL requests, reviewing resource levels and rates, and ensures requests are properly funded.
Minimum
- BA/BS degree in a related discipline (i.e., Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.)
- 16+ years of relevant experience with at least 10 years’ experience in a leadership role; or MBA with 14 years of experience; or PHD with 11 years of experience.
- Requires strong knowledge of financial analysis and technology (Product, Telecommunications Network, and IT) concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
- Experience in other functional areas (Operations, Product, Marketing and Sales, etc.)
- Strong people leader with refined interpersonal/influence skills
Preferred
- Broad Experience in telecommunications industry desired, with contacts at peer companies.
- CPA/CFA or equivalent certification
